A floor spring is a door closer set into a recess in the floor under the door, with the door pivoting on it. Nothing is fitted on the door face, which is why floor springs are used on frameless glass doors and heavy entrance doors.
Which Sterling floor spring do I need?
Choose by door weight. The FS 1000 is load-adjustable for doors of 60–80 kg. The FS 3000 covers doors of 90–120 kg and uses cam action to adjust the spring load to the door weight. Both suit doors up to 1100 mm wide.
Are Sterling floor springs BIS certified?
Yes. Sterling floor springs are BIS certified under licence CM/L No. 7700249814. Sterling was the first company in India to hold BIS certification for floor springs.
Can a floor spring be used on a wooden door?
Yes. Both models are suitable for glass and wooden doors, and are available with top and bottom pivot accessories for wooden doors.
