Sterling DC 2900
Surface-mounted door closer, EN 4-5, for doors up to 100 kg and 1100 mm wide. The plan shows a leaf of 1100 mm closing at two speeds, with the DC 2900 body on it at the same scale.

plant in Vasai.
Sterling door closers and floor springs are made at our works in Vasai (East), Maharashtra. Door closer housings are extruded aluminium alloy, precision machined, and painted or powder coated in-house. Each closer uses a rack and pinion mechanism with two-speed control, and the surface-mounted models use universal mounting for left and right hand doors.

Extruded aluminium housings, precision machined
Door closer bodies are extruded aluminium alloy, machined and finished in-house. The FS 3000 floor spring uses an aluminium pressure die-cast housing and the FS 1000 a cast iron body.
In-house R&D and test lab
Design, prototyping and testing happen inside the plant, in the company's own R&D and test lab.

For wooden and aluminium doors up to 100 kg and 1100 mm wide. Two-speed control, closing and latching, and universal left and right hand mounting. Front control adjustment on DC 1820, DC 2000, DC 2600 and DC 2900. Hold-open pelmet arm on DC 1820 and DC 2600, and as a variant of the DC 1500 (DC-1520 HPA) and DC 2900 (DC-2920 HPA HD); the DC 2600 holds from 10 to 90 degrees.

DC 2700 for wooden doors from 32 mm thick, DC 2800 from 38 mm, both for doors up to 970 mm wide. Silver, black, brown, gold, rose gold finish.

Floor springs
Two models, 60 to 120 kg
Built-in hold open at 90 degrees, two-speed control and a stainless steel matt top plate, for leaves up to 1100 mm wide. The FS 3000 has a cam action body with load adjustment from 90 to 120 kg, in an aluminium pressure die-cast housing.
BIS certified under licence CM/L 7700249814. No EN 1154 size is stated for floor springs; they are rated by door weight and width.

Are Sterling door closers ISI marked?
Yes, all eight. The DC 1500, DC 1800 LA, DC 1820, DC 2000, DC 2600, DC 2700, DC 2800 and DC 2900 door closers are ISI marked to IS 3564:1995 under BIS licence CM/L No. 7700126309. Floor springs are certified separately: the FS 1000 and FS 3000 are BIS certified under licence CM/L No. 7700249814. Which Sterling model do I need for my door?
Size by door weight and leaf width. Up to 45 kg: DC 1500 (EN 1-2). Up to 60 kg: DC 1800 LA or DC 1820, or the concealed DC 2700 (EN 2-3). Up to 80 kg: DC 2000 or DC 2600 (EN 3-4), or the concealed DC 2800 (EN 2-4). Up to 100 kg: DC 2900 (EN 4-5). For glass or heavy doors, the FS 1000 floor spring covers 60 to 80 kg and the FS 3000 covers 90 to 120 kg.
Do you quote for projects and bulk orders?
Yes. Sterling does not publish list prices, because the price depends on the model, finish and quantity. Send a door schedule with leaf widths, door weights, mounting type and quantities, and we will size and quote every door against it.

How do I adjust a door closer's closing speed?
Door closers have two small adjustment valves, usually marked "Close" and "Latch". Turn them slightly, about 1/8 turn at a time, with a screwdriver: clockwise to slow the door down, anticlockwise to speed it up. Closing speed controls the swing from open to about 10 to 15 cm before the frame; latching speed controls the final click as it shuts.
