The thickness of the wooden leaf decides the model: the DC 2700 from 32 mm and the DC 2800 from 38 mm. The body sits inside the top of the leaf, so plan the door preparation before the door is made.

What door does a Sterling concealed closer need?

A wooden door. The DC 2700 needs a leaf at least 32 mm thick. The DC 2800 needs a leaf at least 38 mm thick. Both are rated for doors up to 970 mm wide.

What door weights do the DC 2700 and DC 2800 cover?

The DC 2700 is rated for doors up to 60 kg (EN 2-3). The DC 2800 is rated for doors up to 80 kg (EN 2-4).

How are the closing force and speed set?

Both have two-speed control, closing and latching, for either side of the door, and suit left and right hand opening. The closing force is set by preloading the arm: EN 2-3 on the DC 2700 and EN 2-4 on the DC 2800.

Can a concealed closer hold the door open?

Yes, as a variant: the DC-2720 HPA and DC-2820 HPA hold the door open from 10 to 90 degrees.

Are the concealed closers ISI or CE marked?

Both are ISI marked to IS 3564:1995 under BIS licence CM/L 7700126309. CE marking is not stated for the DC 2700 and DC 2800. The DC 2700 is tested to 3,00,000 cycles and the DC 2800 to 4,00,000 in a government-approved lab.
