Surface-mounted door closers
Fitted on the face of the door or the frame, with an arm to the other. The simplest closers to install, adjust and service, and suitable for on-door or on-frame installation on left- or right-hand doors.

Door closers are sized by EN 1154 power size. Take the larger of the size your door’s weight needs and the size its width needs.

Two types. Surface-mounted door closers (DC 1500, DC 1800 LA, DC 1820, DC 2000, DC 2600, DC 2900) fit on the face of the door or frame. Concealed door closers (DC 2700, DC 2800) are fitted into the door and frame so the body is hidden when the door is closed.
What door weights do Sterling door closers cover?
From doors up to 45 kg (DC 1500, EN 1–2) to doors up to 100 kg (DC 2900, EN 4–5). Concealed models cover doors up to 80 kg.
How do I choose the right door closer size?
Use the EN 1154 size that covers both the door's weight and its leaf width, whichever needs the larger size. A 1050 mm wide door needs at least EN 4 even if it is light. The selector on this page does the calculation and lists the Sterling models rated for your door.

Sterling door closers are ISI marked to IS 3564:1995 under BIS licence CM/L No. 7700126309, and made at our ISO 9001:2015 certified plant in Vasai-Virar, Maharashtra.
Surface-mounted or concealed: which should I choose?
Surface-mounted closers are the simplest to fit and service and suit most wooden and aluminium doors. Concealed closers keep the door clean-looking but need the door and frame prepared to take the body, which is best done at manufacture.
